Việt Nam 2010
Architectural concepts for a "Deutsches Haus" in Ho Chi Minh City
aac-Workshop, Hanoi, Vietnam
11 to 26 June 2010
This workshop was under the guidance of
Prof. Dr. h.c. mult. Dipl.-Ing. Meinhard
von Gerkan, President of the aac and
Dipl.-Ing. Architect Nikolaus Goetze
In 2010, the aac organised a workshop abroad for the first time. The workshop took place in Hanoi, Vietnam, was official part of the anniversary year “Germany in Vietnam 2010” and was organised in cooperation with the Vietnam Architects Association (VAA).
24 Vietnamese and German architects and students designed architectural proposals for building a new German consulate general and cultural centre, the “Deutsches Haus” in Ho Chi Minh City, under the guidance of Prof. Meinhard von Gerkan and Nikolaus Goetze.
Public lectures during the workshop not only linked architecture and other disciplines but also the aac and the public interested in architecture. Public exhibitions in Vietnam and Germany gave a wide public the opportunity to inform itself about the work results of the workshop.
