This year's autumn workshop of the aac dealt with the design for a "Library of Digital Knowledge" for Hamburg.

Under the guidance of Volkwin Marg and Nikolaus Goetze, the international scholarship holders developed designs for a contemporary library, combining classic library uses with innovative participatory concepts.

The future library should be a new destination, with corresponding offers that go beyond the media library programme, such as gastronomy, the publicly accessible Maker Space with various workshops, movie watching spaces and event rooms.
Designs were conceived and developed in internationally composed groups. In addition to tutorials and interim presentations, the workshop was accompanied by a public lecture programme. A joint excursion to Helsinki (Finland) was also part of the workshop programme.
