The aac's autumn workshop 2020 focused on art and nature: In Nantesbuch, situated in the middle of the Bavarian foothills of the Alps, new places of activity for artists and art lovers are to be created in addition to the expansion of the existing agricultural use.
The Nantesbuch Foundation was founded in 2012 by the entrepreneur Susanne Klatten and is a non-profit cultural institution that offers spaces and interdisciplinary programmes for the interaction of art and culture with nature and landscape.
Under the guidance of Volkwin Marg and Nikolaus Goetze, the international scholarship holders developed designs for a campus that enables visitors to understand and experience the special relationship between art and nature.
Designs were conceived and developed in internationally composed groups. In addition to tutorials and interim presentations, the workshop was accompanied by a public lecture programme. A joint excursion to Nantesbuch was also part of the workshop programme.
