Prof. Florian Nagler studied architecture at the University of Kaiserslautern after an apprenticeship as a carpenter and studies of art and Bavarian history, where he graduated in 1994. In 1996 he founded the architectural office Florian Nagler Architekt, since 2001 in partnership with Barbara Nagler in Florian Nagler Architekten. After guest professorships at the University of Wuppertal, the Royal Danish Acadamy in Copenhagen and the HfT Stuttgart, he was appointed to the chair of design and construction at the Technical University of Munich in 2010. He is a member of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts and a founding member of the Federal Foundation of Baukultur and the research association TUM.wood. The office has received numerous prizes and awards, including the German Prize for Architecture for the Schmuttertal grammar school in Diedorf.
