Ita Heinze-Greenberg, PhD; studied art history and philosophy in Bonn; dissertation on Erich Mendelsohn's buildings and projects in the British Mandate area of Palestine; between 1984 and 1997 research and teaching at the Technion in Haifa and at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem; subsequently freelance author in Southern Germany with research projects on Eretz Israel as an experimental laboratory for European settlement concepts and on the project of the European Mediterranean Academy (1931-1934); also lecturer at the University of Augsburg and the Technical University of Munich; since 2012 senior research assistant at the Institute for History and Theory of Architecture at ETH Zurich, where she has been Honorary professor for the Architectural History of the Modernity since 2016. Numerous publications on 19th and 20th century architecture with a focus on New Building in the Mediterranean region in the context of migration research, identity constructions and nation Building.
